bloopcommits is a creator channel (@bloopcommits on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Threads) that publishes short tech and career videos and free guides. This policy covers two things: this website (bloopcommits.pages.dev) and the bloopcommits Instagram auto-reply, an app that uses the official Instagram API to send a guide link to people who ask for it in a comment.
1. The Instagram auto-reply
When you comment on a post or Reel of @bloopcommits, the app reads that comment through the Instagram API. If the comment contains the keyword announced in the Reel, the app sends you one private reply (a direct message) with the link to the free guide you asked for. It may also post a short public reply under your comment saying that the link was sent.
What the app reads
- The text, ID and time of your comment.
- The Instagram username shown on your comment.
- Which post or Reel the comment was written on.
What the app stores
- The IDs of comments it has already handled (not their text and not your username), so that nobody gets the same message twice. Only for the most recent posts of the channel.
- Your username together with the keyword you asked for, for 24 hours, so that the same guide is not sent to you twice in one day.
- Technical log lines (for example "guide PING sent to @username"), kept by our hosting provider for up to 7 days to find errors.
What the app does not do
- It does not store the text of your comment.
- It does not read your inbox or any of your other messages.
- It does not access your followers, contacts, email address, phone number or password. It sees only what is public on your comment.
- It does not send marketing messages: one reply per comment, and only when the comment contains a guide keyword.
- It does not sell or share your data, and does not use it for advertising or profiling.
2. This website
The guides site is a static website. It sets no cookies, has no accounts and no forms that send personal data to us, and loads no advertising or analytics trackers; fonts and images are served from the site itself. The keyword box on the home page works inside your browser and sends nothing to us. As with any website, the hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the pages and protect the service.
3. Who processes the data
- Meta (Instagram): your comments and direct messages live on Instagram and are governed by Instagram's own terms and privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and runs the auto-reply. The stored items listed above are kept in our Cloudflare account.
- Nobody else. No data is sold, rented or passed to advertisers.
4. How long data is kept
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| IDs of handled comments | While the post is among the channel's 40 most recent posts |
| Username + keyword | 24 hours |
| Technical log lines | Up to 7 days |
| The direct message itself | It stays in your Instagram inbox until you delete it. We keep no copy outside Instagram. |
5. Your choices
- If you do not want a message, do not comment a guide keyword: the app reacts only to those.
- You can delete your comment, or the conversation, in Instagram at any time.
- You can ask us to delete what the app stores about you. The steps are on the Data Deletion page.
6. Contact
Questions and requests: send a direct message to @bloopcommits on Instagram.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
